28-Year-Old Moorpark Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Downtown LA

 
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CA (January 26, 2023) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:15 a.m. near Cesar Chavez Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was walking in the second lane of the freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
Paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. He was a 28-year-old Moorpark resident. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
The involved driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
At this time, an investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
