Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 5 Freeway after Rollover Crash

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 23, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway near the 8 Freeway following a rollover crash Sunday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal event happened around 9:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 26-year-old Bonita man lost control of his pickup. Subsequently, his truck overturned before landing on its wheels near the 8 Freeway connector.
 
The unidentified victim proceeded to exit his truck, hop over the center divider and walk across the northbound lanes, where an Acura sedan struck him.
 
Tragically, the man suffered fatal injuries.
 
At this time, officials have much to investigate. However, any witnesses with additional insight into his accident should contact the CHP.
