Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle while Crossing 215 Freeway in Perris

 
PERRIS, CA (December 8, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 215 Freeway in Perris Tuesday night on December 6.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:45 p.m. from the southbound freeway near the D Street off-ramp. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the man was crossing D Street as a vehicle exited the freeway and entered the two-lane corridor. The 37-year-old driver was unable to stop in time to prevent hitting the man, who was crossing the roadway where there is no crosswalk.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.
 
The driver was questioned by deputies but was not arrested.
