Early Morning Multi-Vehicle Accident on 405 Freeway in Los Angeles Leaves 1 Dead

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 9, 2023) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 405 Freeway in Los Angeles early Friday morning on January 6.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:11 a.m. at the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown number of vehicles collided along the southbound freeway.
 
One vehicle struck the center divider and the man in his 20s was ejected. At least one vehicle then hit the victim while lying on the roadway.
 
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
 
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of his relatives.
 
The crash closed all lanes of the southbound freeway for several hours while the CHP conducted their investigation.
