Motorcyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Sedan on Highway 101 in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (November 8, 2022) – A man was killed in a motorcycle hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 in Oxnard Sunday evening on November 6.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:15 p.m. at the Rice Avenue off-ramp. According to the Ventura Police Department, a 2018 Honda Civic rear-ended the man who was riding his motorcycle. Both were traveling at a high rate of speed.
 
The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist from the bike, where several other drivers also struck him. The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 59 years old, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Officers said a 2018 Honda Civic was found abandoned near the crash site and that the driver had fled the area on foot. Investigators searched, but did not find the driver.
 
Further investigation revealed the car was registered to a 31-year-old Oxnard man. Authorities found the man at an unspecified location in Camarillo, where they arrested him on suspicion of murder, felony hit-and-run and felony DUI.
