FRESNO, CA (February 7, 2022) — A man died in a motorcycle crash on Blackstone Avenue at Herndon Avenue on Saturday night.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the fatal accident happened around 4:45 p.m. For reasons that require further investigation, a driver in a truck made a U-turn from northbound Blackstone Avenue and collided with an oncoming motorcyclist. Prior to the impact, the motorcyclist was traveling in the southbound lane.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist flew off his bike and landed on the road.
Soon after, officers and paramedics responded and administered life-saving efforts. However, the unidentified victim died in the accident.
At this time, officers have not released the ultimate cause of the accident. However, they have ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors and say the rider might have run a red light before the impact. Anyone who has additional knowledge should contact the Fresno Police Department.
