Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Motorcycle Accident on Weedpatch Highway in Arvin

 
ARVIN, CA (August 23, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a motorcycle accident on Weedpatch Highway on August 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Bear Mountain Boulevard around 8:45 PM.
 
Based on reports, the rider of a 2020 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling south on Weedpatch prior to the crash. Subsequently, the motorcycle collided with a dark-colored SUV. Then, the crash ejected the rider from the motorcycle. CHP said the Suzuki motorcycle is an off-highway bike and did not have headlights or taillights.
 
As a result, the rider died of his injuries. The CHP did not release his identity but officials said he was a 24-year-old from Tracy.
 
Afterward, CHP said the SUV driver fled northbound on Weedpatch following the crash.
 
At this point, the CHP is still looking for the suspect. Also, the motorcycle accident on Weedpatch Highway is still under investigation. In addition, officers ask anyone with information on the collision to call CHP Bakersfield at 661-396-6600.
