Motorcycle Accident on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles Kills 1 and Injures Another
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 3, 2021) – A 30-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunset Boulevard at Glenroy Avenue Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. on July 1, near UCLA. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man was riding a motorcycle westbound in the left lane with a 36-year-old woman with him. For unknown reasons, he lost control of the bike, struck something in the roadway and collided into an eastbound Volvo on Sunset Boulevard.
The man and woman, both from Sacramento, were ejected from the motorcycle and hit the pavement. Paramedics rushed both of them to a hospital, where the man later died. His identity has not yet been released.
The condition of the woman was unknown.
The woman driving the Volvo called for help and remained at the scene, investigators said.
At this time, it is unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
