Motorcyclist Dies after Running Through Red Light, Crashing on Stockdale Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 19, 2022) – A man died in a motorcycle accident on Stockdale Highway in southwest Bakersfield on Saturday evening, September 17.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. at the intersection with Coffee Road. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the motorcyclist did not stop at a red light and collided with another vehicle.
 
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the other vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will identity the motorcyclist once family members are properly notified.
 
Officials closed the intersection for several hours for the investigation.
