Rider Dies after Crashing into Big Rig on Orange Freeway in Diamond Bar

 
DIAMOND BAR, CA (August 22, 2021) – A 51-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on Orange (57) Freeway in Diamond Bar early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:46 a.m. on August 21, just south of Diamond Bar Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he allegedly made an unsafe lane change and struck the right rear of a 2019 Freightline Cascadia’s trailer.
 
The motorcycle then traveled out of control after the impact and struck a concrete K-rail. The motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was resident of Bullhead City, Arizona.
 
Authorities withheld the victim’s name pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the big rig driver was not injured.
 
An investigation into this accident is underway. The CHP’s Baldwin Park area office urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-338-1164.
