Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Hatchback and Tractor-Trailer on Highway 99 in Salida

 
SALIDA, CA (March 31, 2022) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 99 in Salida on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. on March 29 at Pelandale Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a hatchback sedan along the northbound lanes of the highway.
 
The impact ejected the man off his motorcycle. While he was lying in the roadway, a tractor-trailer struck him.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 29-year-old Hughson resident. His name was withheld pending family notification.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
