26-Year-Old Rider Dies after Colliding with Semi-Truck on Highway 52 in Santee

 
SANTEE, CA (March 14, 2022) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 52 in Santee on Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 5:15 a.m. on March 10 along the westbound highway near Mast Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his Honda motorcycle westbound when he collided with a semi truck, driven by a 34-year-old man.
 
The impact ejected the man from his motorcycle. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 26-year-old La Mesa resident.
 
Meanwhile, the semi truck’s driver was unharmed.
 
After the crash, multiple westbound highway lanes near the area were shut down, leading to a heavy traffic backup during the busy morning commute.
 
A toxicology report from the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
 
Further investigation is underway.
