Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Car in Santa Barbara, Cindy Cowlishaw Involved

 
SANTA BARABARA, CA (September 1, 2022) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara on Wednesday morning, August 31.
 
The accident happened shortly before 10:00 a.m. south of the Salinas Street ramp, just past Montecito. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 31-year-old man from Ojai was riding a 2022 Yamaha ZR7 sport bike in and out of all traffic lanes at a high rate of speed.
 
He then struck the left rear of a 2022 Honda CRV, driven by a 61-year-old Cindy Cowlishaw of Ojai.
 
After the impact, the man was ejected from his bike and landed on the roadway. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The motorcycle wreckage ended up in the left-hand shoulder against the center divider.
 
It is unknown if Cowlishaw was hurt in the crash.
 
The CHP is still working on this fatal crash and the use of alcohol and/or drugs is under investigation.
