SUV Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Comanche Drive in Arvin

 
ARVIN, CA (April 18, 2021) – A young man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Comanche Drive in Arvin Thursday afternoon, April 15.
 
The accident happened around 1:44 p.m. just north of Sunset Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Chevy Suburban towing a utility trailer was stopped on the right shoulder of southbound Comanche Drive. A 2010 Kawasaki EX250J motorcycle was traveling behind it.
 
The Suburban attempted to make a U-turn directly into the path of the motorcycle and crashed into it. The force of the impact ejected the rider from his bike and he suffered major injuries.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the rider to Kern Medical Center, where the victim later died.
 
Authorities only identified the rider as a 19-year-old Bakersfield resident.
 
The driver of the Suburban suffered moderate injuries while two passengers had minor injuries, according to the CHP. The driver and one of the passengers were taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
 
CHP officials continue to work on this fatal crash.
