Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Pickup Truck on Black Bart Avenue in South Lake Tahoe
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (July 22, 2022) – A man died in a motorcycle accident on Black Bart Avenue in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday morning, July 20.
The accident happened around 6:48 a.m. at Hank Monk Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 47-year-old man was riding his Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Black Bart Avenue at an unknown rate of speed.
As he approached the intersection with Hank Monk Avenue, the driver of a Toyota pickup truck was making a left-hand turn onto Black Bart.
As the pickup truck driver made the turn, the motorcycle collided with the left side of the pickup.
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered major injuries. First responders rushed him to Barton Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Toyota, a 40-year-old female, only sustained minor injuries.
Both involved parties are from South Lake Tahoe.
At this time, the fatal crash is under investigation.
