Driver Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Avila Beach Drive in Avila Beach

 
AVILA BEACH, CA (August 9, 2024) — A man died in a motorcycle accident on Avila Beach Drive at 1st Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, the motorcyclist struck a Chevrolet Silverado turning left onto Avila Beach Drive from 1st Street. Upon impact, the motorcyclist was hurled off the bike.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and rushed the 58-year-old man to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo where he passed away 45 minutes after the crash. Officials did not release his name.
 
Traffic investigators did not state the ultimate cause of the accident. However, they are looking further into the cause.
