48-Year-Old Man Dies in Concord Motorcycle Accident on 680 Freeway

 
CONCORD, CA (May 11, 2021) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on 680 Freeway in Concord late Friday evening, May 7.
 
Around 10:42 p.m., CHP officials began a search for the missing motorcyclist who was riding a 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle. They determined that the victim was traveling southbound at 100 mph when he crashed into the center divider.
 
The motorcyclist was ejected into the northbound lanes, where an oncoming traffic struck him.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 48-year-old Concord resident.
 
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs was a factor. The California Highway Patrol asked anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to contact Contra Costa CHP in Martinez at (925) 646-4980.
