Suspected Drunk Driver Moises Luna Smashes into Disabled Vehicle in Rosemead Killing its Driver

ROSEMEAD, CA (February 7, 2022) – A man died and police arrested Moises Rivera Luna after a DUI crash on San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Rosemead early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 3:40 a.m. on February 6 just west of Walnut Grove Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was standing near his disabled vehicle in the third lane of the freeway when a 2016 Ford Mustang, driven by Luna, struck him and his vehicle.
 
The man died instantly and his vehicle was pushed into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. The motorist in the SUV did not sustain any injuries.
 
The man’s passenger, a 48-year-old man, was taken to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center with moderate injuries.
 
Meanwhile, Luna only had minor injuries. He was a 31-year-old Rosemead resident.
 
Police later arrested Luna on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
