GUERNEVILLE, CA (October 11, 2021) – Police identified Michael Hein as the man who was hurt in a fatal head-on accident in the 13250 block of River Road on October 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just before noon near Odd Fellows Park Road.
 
Based on an initial report, a Toyota Tacoma was heading east on River prior to the crash. Then, it entered the opposite lanes and collided with a Sonoma County Transit bus. The bus pushed the pickup a short distance before both vehicles came to a stop.
 
As a result, the pickup driver died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification. Paramedics transported the driver of the bus, 26-year-old Michael Hein of Sebastopol, to a hospital for minor injuries.
 
Also, the crash closed the westbound lane of River Road.
 
At this point, police officers are still investigating this accident. In addition, no other details are available.
