Early Morning Hit-and-Run Crash on Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield Kills Pedestrian

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 7, 2022) – A man died in a hit-and-run crash on Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield early Sunday morning on December 4.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:32 a.m. in the 3900 block of Stockdale Highway at Stine Road. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a white car struck the man and fled the scene.
 
First responders found the man lying in the roadway and pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Police described the suspect vehicle as an early 2000s white 4D with a spoiler and major front-end damage.
 
Two other vehicles were possibly involved. Police described them as a gray truck, possibly a Toyota Tundra, and a red sedan, possibly an early 2000s Toyota Corolla.
 
BPD’s Major Collision Investigation Team is handling the investigation. Speed did not play a role in the crash. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor. Anyone with further information is asked to call the BPD at 661-327-7111.
