Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash at Western Avenue in Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 2, 2024) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Western Avenue at 7th Street Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal hit-and-run accident happened around 6:00 a.m. in Koreatown. For an unknown reason, a driver of what authorities believe was a light gray or blue 2004-06 Acura MDX struck a male pedestrian crossing westbound inside a marked crosswalk. Subsequently, the northbound vehicle did not stop and continued toward 4th Street.
 
Minutes later, the man who was hit was taken to a nearby hospital where he passed away from his injuries. Officials have not released his name pending notification of next of kin.
 
At this time, officers want help searching for the driver or vehicle involved that likely sustained front right-hand passenger-side damage. Those with information can call LAPD West Traffic Detective Holmes at 213-473-0238.
