Man Dies in Santa Maria Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Black Road

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (August 19, 2021) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Black Road near Tanglewood Drive Sunday night.
 
According to Santa Maria Police, the fatal crash happened around 11:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver struck a man who officers believe was walking toward the Tanglewood subdivision.
 
Following the accident, firefighters and law enforcement arrived and took him to Marian Regional Medical Center where he died.
 
At this time, officers are seeking to determine whether the pedestrian, believed to be about 19 years old, passed out or fell asleep on the road before being hit. Although, if anyone knows the circumstances of this crash or the identity of the hit-and-run driver, please contact the Santa Maria Police.
