Driver Dies after Hit-and-Run Suspect Runs Through Red Light and Strikes His Car on McKee Road in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (July 19, 2021) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at McKee Road and 33rd Street in San Jose early Saturday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 17, near Anne Darling Elementary School. According to San Jose police, the man was driving a black 2007 Honda sedan eastbound on McKee Road. At the same time, a black 2015 Infiniti sedan was speeding northbound on 33rd Street.
The driver of the Infiniti ran through a red light and slammed into the Honda sedan, police said. The impact ejected the driver of the Honda and he died at the scene.
After the crash, the driver of the Infiniti fled the scene on foot.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once next of kin is properly notified.
