Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Cherry Avenue in Fontana
FONTANA, CA (September 27, 2022) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Cherry Avenue in Fontana on Saturday morning, September 24.
The fatal crash happened around 5:00 a.m. just between Valley Boulevard and San Bernardino Avenue. According to the Fontana Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
After the crash, the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid.
Responding paramedics tried saving the victim, but he died at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of his family members.
Crews closed the roadway for several hours while the investigation was taking place.
