Bicycle Accident on 1st Street, Man Killed and Hit-and-Run Driver at Large
SAN JOSE, CA (February 9, 2021) — A man killed in a bicycle accident on 1st Street near Reed Street Sunday January 31 has officers searching for the hit-and-run driver.
According to news reports, the deadly accident happened around 4:30 a.m. At the intersection, police arrived and found a bicyclist in the roadway. Shortly thereafter, paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Per the investigation, a driver in a black Chevrolet Silverado struck the bicyclist. It appears as though the driver was traveling north in the southbound lanes when he or she struck the southbound bicyclist, police reported.
