Man Killed in Fresno County Head-On Accident on Highway 180

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 12, 2021) — A man died in a head-on crash on Highway 180 near San Benito Road Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 7:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Chevy Silverado headed westbound veered into the opposing lane of traffic. Subsequently, the Chevy collided head-on with a big rig.
 
As a result of the crash, the Mendota man driving the Chevy, believed to be in his 60s, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the uninjured big rig driver stayed at the scene for investigations.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed if alcohol or drugs played a factor. However, if anyone has additional information on this accident, please contact the CHP.
