Man Dies in Bodega Bay Head-On Accident on Highway 1

 
BODEGA BAY, CA (April 26, 2022) — A man died in a head-on crash on Highway 1 near Estero Lane on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. For unknown reasons, a northbound driver operating a Toyota Tacoma crossed the double yellow lines and struck a southbound BMW 325xi.
 
Upon arriving, paramedics pronounced the BMW driver dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, emergency personnel airlifted the Toyota driver to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
 
As a result of the impact, the two cars sustained considerable damage, trapping their respective drivers inside.
 
At this time, the fatal victim’s identity and factors that contributed to the crash require additional investigation. Although, if any witnesses would like to help the CHP, please call the department.
