San Diego Man Dies in DUI Crash 8 Freeway in Alpine, Guillermo Roblero III Arrested

 
ALPINE, CA (April 11, 2021) – A man was killed and another was arrested after a DUI accident on 8 Freeway in Alpine Saturday morning, April 10.
 
The accident happened around 2:00 a.m. along the westbound lanes of the freeway, just west of Dunbar Lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 59-year-old San Diego resident was driving a blue Honda CR-V on the freeway.
 
At the same time, 26-year-old Guillermo Christian Roblero III was driving a gray Toyota Scion TC the wrong way. Roblero then struck the Honda head-on.
 
As a result, the driver of the Honda died at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
 
Roblero suffered major injuries. Paramedics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
 
Police determined that Roblero was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. They arrested him on DUI felony charges.
 
The CHP is investigating the crash and urges anyone with information to call officer Garrow at (619) 401-2000.
