Fiery Accident on Highway 4 in Antioch Leaves Driver Dead

 
ANTIOCH, CA (March 15, 2021) – A man was killed in a fiery accident on Highway 4 in Antioch Sunday evening, March 14.
 
The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on Highway 4 just west of the Highway 160 connector. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound when it drove off the left shoulder and struck the guardrail in the center divider. It also hit a metal sign pole and caught fire.
 
The driver, only identified as a 41-year-old Antioch man, died at the scene. Authorities will release his name once his family members are notified.
 
Officials closed three westbound lanes from 9:40 to 11:15 p.m. while they worked on the scene. CalTrans was called to replace 70 feet of guardrail.
