Early Morning Fiery Accident on 91 Freeway in Yorba Linda Kills Man

 
YORBA LINDA, CA (April 1, 2022) – A man died in a fiery accident on 91 Freeway in Yorba Linda, early Thursday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened a little before 12:50 a.m. on March 31 just east of Coal Canyon Trail. According to the CHP, the victim was driving a 2010 Volvo westbound on the freeway when he collided with a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder.
 
The man then veered back into traffic, where he was struck by a big rig driven by Erik Peterson.
 
The impact caused the Volvo to burst into flames. The man died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, Peterson was unharmed.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
