DUI Driver Causes Deadly Crash on Tank Farm Road in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (July 31, 2022) – A 63-year-old man died in a DUI two-vehicle accident on Tank Farm Road in San Luis Obispo on Saturday morning, July 30.
The accident happened around 8:14 a.m. just west of Santa Fe Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet was traveling eastbound on Tank Farm Road. A Volkswagen was traveling westbound on the same road.
For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet crossed over the opposing lane of traffic and collided with the Volkswagen.
As a result, the driver of the Volkswagen suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
CHP officers later arrested the driver of the Chevrolet on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence of a drug and causing injury and/or death to another and more.
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
