Pedestrian Dies after Struck by DUI Driver on Highway 94 in Lemon Grove

 
LEMON GROVE, CA (July 18, 2022) – A 26-year-old man died in a DUI pedestrian accident on Highway 94 in Lemon Grove early Sunday, July 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. just east of Highway 125. According to the California Highway Patrol, two sedans collided for unknown reasons. One of them careened down an embankment and ended up against the concrete barrier.
 
After the crash, one of the drivers got out of his vehicle. That was when another car heading east on the highway struck him.
 
First responders attempted saving the man, but he died at the scene.
 
Police arrested the 27-year-old driver who struck the victim on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
The CHP shut down eastbound transition ramps and some highway lanes for a few hours as they investigated the crash.
