Pedestrian Dies after Struck by DUI Driver on 10 Freeway in Fontana
FONTANA, CA (July 27, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway in Fontana late Sunday evening on July 24.
The fatal accident happened around 11:50 p.m. near Sierra Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking on the freeway when a 2008 Buick driven by a suspected drunk driver struck him.
Responding emergency personnel tried saving the pedestrian who suffered major injuries. However, the victim did not survive and was declared dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim was not immediately available. It is also unclear if the driver was arrested after the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
