Man Dies in DUI Head-On Crash on Ashlan Avenue in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 20, 2022) — A man died in a DUI head-on accident on Ashlan Avenue at Sunnyside Avenue on June 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident occurred on Father’s Day. Around 7:00 p.m., officers responded to the intersection in the Tarpey Village District to find that a car and a truck had collided.
 
For possible DUI-related reasons, the driver in the westbound truck veered into the opposing lane and crashed into the eastbound car carrying a man, his wife and two children in the back seat. Due to the force of the head-on crash, the truck rolled over onto its roof.
 
Responding authorities and paramedics found a 35-year-old man driving the truck impaired. As a result, they arrested him for felony DUI, booking him into Fresno County jail.
 
Tragically, the man inside the car suffered fatal injuries. His wife and one child in the back seat sustained unknown injuries.
 
At this time, authorities have yet to investigate the unclear details of this accident. Therefore, any witnesses with more information should call the CHP.
