DUI Driver Involved in Crash on Carpenter Road at Monte Vista Avenue in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (January 9, 2022) – Police confirmed that a man died in a DUI crash on South Carpenter Road on December 20.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at West Monte Vista Avenue.
 
Based on a report, a pickup truck and a sedan collided in the lanes. Prior to that, officers said the pickup ran a stop sign at the intersection and it crashed into the sedan.
 
Subsequently, the impact caused the pickup to overturn several times. Then, the force ejected two people inside it.
 
As a result, the driver of the pickup, a 32-year-old man from Modesto, died from his injuries. Officials did not release his name, pending kin notification.
 
In addition, crews rushed a 25-year-old Oakdale woman to the hospital with major injuries.
 
Officers said drugs and/or alcohol appear to have been a factor in the crash. At this point, this collision is still under investigation.
