Man Killed in DUI Accident on 80 Freeway near Treasure Island [San Francisco, CA]

DUI Crash on 80 Freeway in San Francisco Kills 1 Passenger, Injures Four Others

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 20, 2022) – A man was killed in a DUI accident on 80 Freeway in San Francisco on Sunday morning, June 19.
 
The accident happened just before 3:00 a.m. near Treasure Island. According to the San Francisco Police Department, a 2007 Infiniti M45 was traveling westbound on the freeway when it came to a stop in the left lane, possibly due to some kind of mechanical issue.
 
Less than a minute later, a passing 2014 Nissan Frontier slammed into the back of the Infiniti.
 
As a result, the 22-year-old male passenger of the Infiniti from Antioch suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Three other people in the Infiniti suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver of the Nissan was treated had minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, police arrested the 22-year-old female driver of the Infiniti from San Francisco on suspicion of DUI.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
