DUI Suspected Cause of Fatal Accident on 10 Freeway in Pomona

 
POMONA, CA (September 23, 2021) – Police confirmed that a man died in a DUI accident on westbound 10 Freeway on September 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of Towne Avenue at approximately 12:45 AM.
 
Based on an initial report, a 2007 Lexus IS 350 was traveling westbound on the freeway at over 90 miles per hour prior to the crash. Then, it made an unsafe turn to the right and collided with the right shoulder concrete wall of the freeway. Subsequently, the vehicle overturned onto its passenger side. Debris from the crash went airborne and struck the front of a 2003 Honda Odyssey.
 
As a result, the driver of the Lexus died from his injuries. Officials only identified him as a 31-year-old man.
 
The driver of the Honda, a 72-year-old resident of Los Angeles, and her two passengers were not hurt in the incident.
 
Also, the collision closed the four lanes on the westbound 10 Freeway. At this point, an investigation is ongoing and no other details are available.
