58-Year-Old Driver Dies when Car Hits Garbage Truck on Railroad Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 1, 2023) – A man died after crashing into a garbage truck on Railroad Avenue in Riverside Monday afternoon on January 30.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near Winstrom Street. According to the Riverside Police Department, the 58-year-old man from Riverside was driving a gray 2007 Toyota Scion sedan westbound when he crossed over into eastbound lanes and crashed into the back of the city trash truck.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of his family members.
 
The driver of the garbage truck was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but escaped serious injuries.
