Man Dies, Vehicle Crashes into Ditch off Highway 4 in Stockton

 
STOCKTON, CA (June 23, 2022) — A man died after a car crashed into a ditch off Highway 4 near Middle River Bridge on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened around 12:30 a.m. By 7:15 a.m., authorities received word of a man screaming in the road after a passing motorist found two people in a car, one of whom had been unresponsive.
 
Arriving authorities and paramedics found a 27-year-old Manteca woman with minor injuries. A 25-year-old man suffered major injuries in the crash and died at the scene. Authorities have not identified him.
 
According to an investigation, officers believe that the driver of the 2005 Infiniti G35 left the two-lane highway while traveling east. Subsequently, the vehicle struck a pole, overturned and landed on its roof in a water-filled ditch.
 
At this time, investigators need the public’s help in confirming what had happened. So far, investigators have not ruled out impairment as a possible factor. However, if anyone can help the CHP with this crash, please call the department.
