Man Dies in Car Crash with Tree on Lake Park Avenue in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (March 10, 2022) — A man died in a car accident with a tree on Lake Park Avenue near Grand Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to Oakland Police, the fatal single-car crash happened around 4:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a man driving in the 400 block of Lake Park Avenue crashed his vehicle into a tree.
 
Soon after, officers reached the scene and pronounced him dead.
 
At this time, the Alameda County coroner’s office has not released the name of the man as of Wednesday morning.
 
Prior to this fatal crash, a motorcyclist collided with a vehicle that had just exited a driveway on Baldwin Street. Due to the nature of that crash, the 51-year-old Oakland man sought care at Highland Hospital in critical condition while the driver stayed at the scene for police questioning.
 
At this time, officers seek to look into DUI as a possible source of these accidents. If anyone has more information, please contact the authorities.
