Head-On Accident on Highway 108 in Sonora Kills 1, Seriously Injures Bruce Krejcik

 
SONORA, CA (July 27, 2022) – A man died and Bruce Krejcik was seriously injured in a head-on accident in Sonora late Sunday afternoon on July 24.
 
The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. near Old Wards Ferry Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 41-year-old Sonora man was driving a Mitsubishi Mirage west on Highway 108 when he allowed the vehicle to travel into the westbound lanes near Old Wards Ferry Road.
 
The Mitsubishi then collided head-on with an eastbound Lexus, driven by Krejcik.
 
As a result, the 41-year-old Mitsubishi driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
 
Krejcik, a 72-year-old Tuolumne resident, suffered major injuries and was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Sonora Area CHP office at 209-984-3944.
