57-Year-Old Bicyclicst Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Church Lane in San Pablo

 
SAN PABLO, CA (August 15, 2022) – A man died in a bicycle hit-and-run crash on Church Lane in San Pablo early Saturday, August 13.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:46 a.m. near a mobile home park and the city’s cemetery. The site is about two miles north of San Pablo Avenue and Robert Miller Drive.
 
Police said a blue Honda Civic struck the bicyclist and fled the scene. It then traveled northbound in the wrong lane and collided head-on with a Cadillac sedan.
 
The bicyclist, a 57-year-old man from San Pablo, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Cadillac sustained moderate injuries.
 
Police later arrested the Honda driver, a 23-year-old Fairfield man, on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
 
The San Pablo Police Department is investigating the fatal crash.
