Bicyclist Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck near Friant Road in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (January 13, 2022) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident near Friant Road and Audubon Drive in north Fresno on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 1:30 p.m. on January 12. According to the Fresno Police Department, the man in his 50s was riding his bicycle when a Dodge Ram pickup truck turned west from Friant and struck him.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the truck stayed and cooperated with police.
 
FPD officers are still investigating who had the right of way. Audubon westbound lanes remain closed during the investigation.
