Fatal Bicycle Accident near Brokaw Road in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (April 7, 2021) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident near the Brokaw Road in San Jose Monday afternoon, April 5.
 
According to the San Jose Police Department, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. underpass of 880 Freeway.
 
Police said the man was riding his bicycle across the street outside of a marked crosswalk when a westbound pickup truck collided with his bicycle. The impact threw the victim off his bike and he sustained significant injuries.
 
Paramedics rushed the bicyclist to a hospital, where he died hours later, police said.
 
Police have not yet identified the victim pending next family notification.
 
It is unknown if the pickup truck driver had stayed after the crash. Police urged witnesses to contact San Jose police Det. Bowen at 408-277-4654.
