Man Walking His Bicycle Dies after Struck by Car on Alabama Street in Redlands

REDLANDS, CA (December 1, 2021) – A man died in a bicycle accident on Alabama Street in Redlands on Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on November 28 just north of Palmetto Avenue. According to the Redlands Police Department, the victim was walking his bicycle south on Alabama Street when a Toyota Prius struck him from behind.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was only identified as a 52-year-old San Bernardino resident.
 
The driver of the Toyota was not injured in the crash and remained on scene.
 
Crews closed Alabama Street for about five hours while they cleared the wreckage.
 
At this time, an investigation into this fatal accident is underway.
