ATV Driver Dies after Colliding with Another Vehicle on Wilbur Avenue in Antioch

 
ANTIOCH, CA (August 31, 2021) – A 39-year-old man died in an ATV accident on Wilbur Avenue in Antioch Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on August 25, near Viera Avenue. According to the Antioch Police Department, the man was driving an all-terrain vehicle when he collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons.
 
First responders found the man in the middle of the roadway with fatal injuries. They pronounced him dead at the scene. The man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
 
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office withheld the identity of the deceased pending next of kin notification.
 
The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Police said impairment was not a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
