Man Killed, Amanda Irving Arrested in DUI Accident on Hacienda Avenue [Desert Hot Springs, CA]

76-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle at Hacienda Avenue and Maui Way, DUI Driver Amanda Irving Arrested

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (February 27, 2022) – A 76-year-old man died and police arrested Amanda Irving for DUI after fatally striking the pedestrian in Desert Hot Springs.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23 at Hacienda Avenue and Maui Way. According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, Irving was driving eastbound when she struck the male pedestrian walking along the roadway.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Police arrested Irving on suspicion of DUI causing great bodily injury and booked her into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
 
At this time, the fatal crash is still under investigation.
