Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 138 Kills Passenger, Hurts 2 Others

 
PHELAN, CA (February 9, 2021) — A 30-year-old man died in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 138 on Saturday, January 9.
 
Reports indicated that the incident involved a 2003 Honda, a 2010 Lexus, a 2016 Ford, and a 2012 Jeep. It took place east of Wimmer Road according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
The Honda was reportedly traveling on eastbound Highway 138 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. As a result, it collided with the 2010 Lexus in the eastbound lanes. The Honda subsequently crossed into the opposite lanes and crashed into the front end of the Ford.
 
Following that, the Honda kept going on westbound Highway 138 where it hit the Jeep. The force of the impact ejected the male passenger in the Honda.
 
Paramedics took the passenger to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officials have not disclosed the passenger’s name.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda received treatment at Arrowhead Regional for major injuries. The driver of the Ford, who is from Upland, sustained minor injuries and was treated at Desert Valley Hospital.
