Man Dies in Winchester 2-Car Accident on Highway 79
WINCHESTER, CA (May 4, 2022) — A man died in a 2-car crash on Highway 79 near Patterson Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision occurred around 1:20 p.m. Possibly due to speed, a 23-year-old Menifee man driving a BMW lost control of his car while navigating a left curve in the northbound lane.
Subsequently, the BMW veered into the southbound side where it collided with a Toyota pickup truck traveling about 50 to 60 miles per hour.
Due to the nature of the crash, the man driving the BMW suffered fatal injuries while the Toyota driver suffered minor wounds.
At the time, authorities have not released the fatal victim’s name and the factors that drove the accident. Although, any witnesses of this crash should call the CHP.
