Pickup Truck Plunges into Ocean near Highway 1 in Pescadero Killing the Driver and Juvenile Passenger

 
PESCADERO, CA (May 2, 2022) – A man and a juvenile died in a car accident on Highway 1 in Pescadero on Friday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. on April 29 at Pescadero Creek Road. CHP officials said a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck failed to slow and stop at the intersection. It drove past the highway intersection through beach parking lot and plunged into the ocean at Pescadero State Beach.
 
As a result, the driver who was in his 40s, died at the scene.
 
A female juvenile’s body was discovered inside the Toyota after it was recovered from the ocean. She was also pronounced dead by San Mateo County Fire paramedics just before 1:00 a.m.
 
A third occupant was reportedly missing.
 
At this time, the crash is still under investigation. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
